Questions
How do I reserve a place?
Choose your pilgrimage, pick the package that suits you, and register online. A deposit holds your place; the balance is due 60 days before departure.
What does the price include?
It varies by pilgrimage, and each one lists its own inclusions in full. As a rule, the price covers your accommodation in Medjugorje, breakfast and lunch, all coach transfers, your licensed guide, and the full spiritual program. Tips for the house, guide and driver (usually around $145), one meal a day, travel insurance and personal items are not included.
What is the difference between a package and “Land Only”?
A standard package includes your airfare from the United States. Land Only means you arrange your own flights and join the group in Medjugorje. If you choose Land Only, send us your flight schedule at least 45 days before departure so your airport transfers can be arranged. If you arrive at the same airport and time as the group, there is nothing extra to pay for transport. If not, a taxi is 170 euros, at your expense. If you are traveling from outside the USA, we will give you details on where to meet the group for a Pilgrimage of a Lifetime!
How do the rooms work?
Accommodation is in twin-bed double rooms. Prices quoted are per person, based on two sharing. If you are traveling with someone, tell us their name when you register so we room you together.
Can I have a room to myself?
You can ask for one, and it is at a higher price. Each guest house has only a small number of single rooms, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once they are all reserved, we cannot guarantee one. Single rooms are sometimes smaller than a standard room.
What if I am traveling alone and do not have a roommate?
Tell us when you register and we will discuss it with you. Under our terms, a traveler without a roommate is responsible for the single supplement, if there is not another person looking for a roommate.
Can three of us share?
Yes, by request. In most guest houses a triple room is possible. There is no reduction in cost: it is the same price per person as a double room. Book a double room for each of you, put the other two names under “Sharing a room with” when you register, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. You can pay in full at booking or pay a deposit now and the balance in two further payments, with all payments made 60 days before you travel.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend it. Where it is not included, you may add it when you register or arrange your own. If you want coverage for a pre-existing medical condition, you generally must purchase the policy within a short window after paying your deposit, so do not wait. For questions about coverage, see 206 Tours’ travel insurance page. You may also purchase your own; one company to use is Trawick International.
What about my passport?
You need a passport book, valid for at least six months beyond your return date. A passport card is not accepted for international air travel. We ask for your passport details at registration because our ticketing agent needs the information for the airline to issue or quote your tickets.
Can I choose my airline seat?
We cannot reserve or select airline seats. You can do this yourself once you receive your e-ticket confirmation from us.
Is a pilgrimage physically demanding?
There is a fair amount of walking, and the climbs of Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain are steep and rocky. Some pilgrims choose not to climb, and the rest of the program does not depend on it. Neither climb is ever mandatory. If you have concerns, talk to us before you book.
Can I come if I have trouble walking or use a wheelchair?
Yes, with some planning. Tell us about any disability or medical condition when you register. We will ask for wheelchair assistance at the airports and an accessible room where one is available, but we cannot guarantee either. Medjugorje’s streets are narrow, cobbled and uneven, the coaches have no wheelchair lifts, and motorized scooters cannot be accommodated. We cannot give personal help with walking, meals, flights or getting on and off the coach, so if you need that kind of help, please travel with a companion who can provide it. Nobody has to climb the hills. If you are unsure, call us before you book.
