- $145 for tips, in an envelope
- Copies of your passport and important numbers, kept separately
- Travel insurance details
In your carry-on
- All your medicines
- One change of clothes
- Phone and charger
- Type F European plug adapter
- Liquids in one quart-size clear bag (3.4 oz or less each)
- Neck pillow, eye mask and earplugs
- A pen for the plane
Clothing
- Sturdy walking shoes, broken in
- Modest clothes: shoulders and knees covered
- Light jacket or sweater for the evenings
- Rain gear or a travel poncho
- Sun hat
- Shawl or scarf (ladies)
- Socks or slippers for the flight
Toiletries and health
- Travel-size toiletries, soap and a washcloth
- Hair dryer, if you need one
- Pain relief, motion sickness tablets
- Imodium, a laxative, Pepto Bismol
- Allergy and cold tablets, Band-Aids
- Tissues and hand wipes
- Sunscreen, and bug spray (May to September)
For prayer
- Rosary
- Travel Bible
- Journal
Also useful
- Water bottle
- Small flashlight for early or night climbs
- An alarm (or your phone)
- One or two plastic bags for laundry
And most important of all: an open heart.
